victim me, my wife and my 9 years kid since April 2006 and victum for the all system since i belive them when i immigrated in 2000, but it's too late to cry :)

We have long way to go. People please contribute. If you are thinking that senate is on two week recess so nothing is going to happen then you are wrong.
Senate republicans will be working hard to come up with something that addressess the immigration problem. Senate republicans know that border security and immigration is an important issue and they just can not ignore it. So please contribute.

I agree, there is slim chance that 5882 could pass, we must do our best and not let it slip out of our hands. Keep writing and calling. At this rate EB 3 I will not move more than a couple of months per year. The new visa allocation policy will retrogress EB3 ROW too and as EB3 ROW starts getting retrogressed there will be less and less available for EB3 I.
If you can porting to EB2 is always a better choice.
For EB3-I's with PD > 2005 it is worth the risk even with the gray area that USCIS may not accept the porting. An EB2 I PD of 2008/9 will always be better than EB3 I PD > 2005.
HR 5882 is the only solution for all atleast for this year.

There is also a 7 percent cap for each country. The sum of family and employment visas for china and india cannot exceed 25,000 approx as long as ROW is oversubscribed.
IF excess visa from EB2 ROW overflows to to EB2 china/india, this would clearly violate the 7 percent limit as the sum total consumption of visas by these countries would be well over the 7 percent of employment visas. Unless the overall demand for employment visas is less than what is available, the 7 percent would clearly apply.
The only thing that I feel might happen would be any unused EB1 china/india visas flowing down to EB2 china/india.

There have been a lot of updates sent out via the verified state chapter mailing lists. If you are not part of any state chapter please check this page http://immigrationvoice.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=72&Itemid=52 and if there is no state chapter for your state, you can request to become member of a neighboring state chapter.

I know the post was entirely wrong and foolish.
But I feel that I am in the dark about IV activities for the past one year.
I am one of the silent IV Supporters and long time (from the beginning) monthly contributing IV Member.
It would be better to have a special thread/monthly bulleting page from IV to tell the members to know about IV activities or progress.
After the last year July fiasco issue I have not seen any posting about IV activities on the web site other than lot of threads and could not able to figure out the work IV is exactly doing.
I strongly believe because of IV core team only we were able to come through successful in July 2007 Bulletin issue. But do not know what else is IV doing for the past 12 months.
The Flowers, Letters and Phone Calls is not working as we expect. I do not know about other activities other than sending letters and phones during every congress session.
I believe IV need to do some thing different. There is no media reports about legal immigration issue (not for IV) for the past one year.
My perspective is that we need to find a way that Media and Public will aware of the issues we face every day.
I am not questioning the IV Core Team. It would be great if the IV members know some details about IV activities every month in a bulletin or thread etc.

how do you guys manage to do options/commodities/fx trading without missing prod release? :) you all seem to have lot of knowledge about all this stuff and its good to learn something new (although one like me need to google to understand what smisachu is saying :D)
I invest in stocks and etfs but am very impatient when it comes to maximize profits.. i like to take small small profits (5% to 7%) instead of one big kill.. btw, can someone suggest good REIT etfs? (sorry, not related to original commodities topic)

Can we have some kind of time line that IV core/lobbying firm has knowledge of about S .9 and what might or will happen in March, just in another 15 days.
If I call the IV number, can we get the future time line.
My GUESS is that, it would take same time (if not more) for S9 as it would take for the IRAQ issue in Senate and House.
I think if it wasn�t for the IRAQ fiasco we would have had our issues resolved a year back.
And the start of S9 won�t happen till IRAQ issue is resolved/voted/rejected in senate or house.
I think the biggest hurdle for S9 would be the request by Democrats to DUBYA to provide certain number of votes from Republicans. Democrats do not want to put there neck on the line for immigration issue. In other words if it comes to party line voting S9 is probably on the fence, and most likely to not pass.
